Chocolate Sugar Cookies

Over my Spring Break I wanted to make something fun for Easter. I found some really cute Easter cookie cutters made by Wilton. I bought them excited to decorate sugar cookies. When I showed my husbands the cookie cutters he asked why we don't make chocolate sugar cookies. I looked at him like he was crazy thinking there was no such thing. When I really started to think about chocolate sugar cookies they sounded like they could turn out really good. So, I grabbed my sugar cookie recipe and made some alterations to turn them into chocolate cookies. I decided to search online to see if there was a recipe for chocolate sugar cookies before I tried the recipe and waste all of the ingredients because they are terrible. I was shocked to see how many different chocolate sugar cookie recipes there are. Why have I never heard of these? I tried my recipe and they turned out delicious! After trying them I was even more upset that I have never had them before. These cookies are very sweet. I found that they do not need to be covered in icing. I ended up just outlining the cookie and it was the perfect amount of icing. If you have never tried these cookies before, you should they are excellent. They are also a great way to switch things up for the holidays.
